Heartburn.

"Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?" Lk 24:32 KJV

Sometimes you'll get overwhelmed when you remember the shape you were in and the road you were on-then Jesus came. If you can't praise Him for what He saved you out of, maybe you could praise Him today for what He kept you from. Without Him, where would you be? On the Emmaus Road, a man and his companion walked in silence and despair. Jesus was dead! Their hopes had been destroyed, and there was nothing left to live for. We've all been on the Emmaus Road, and maybe that's where you are today. But suddenly Jesus came! Don't you love those words? They didn't know it was Him; they thought He was a stranger. On resurrection morning, Mary thought Jesus was the gardener; and in Galilee, the disciples thought He was a ghost. The Bible says, "Some have entertained angels unawares" (Heb 13:2 KJV).

Keep your eyes and your heart open, and before the day is through, you might be saying,

  • "It's Him!

  • It's His voice!

  • He's here!"

In that moment, you can reach out to touch Him and be made whole. You say, "How will I know it's Him?" Heartburn! Listen: "Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way?" You'll know it's Him, all right.

  • There's no voice like His,

  • no touch like His,

  • and no peace like His.

As you open the pages of your Bible, He'll open your understanding. When He does, your heart will burn and you'll feel the glow of His presence.

Heartburn

There's no voice like His.
